While both main types will hold about the same amount, if you need more than 10 or 15 tons to get carried in the trolley, you need a double-girder unit. This type also uses more space because it can lift more all the way through the two beams.

Double-girders are made in different setups. Some manufacturers offer them with structural girders, box girders or hoists. These different makes work better in high-duty cycles or in areas where explosives or harsh elements are part of the production facility.
These girders are also equipped with different speeds. You want to pick which product has the types of speeds that will work for your facility and your production line. Another characteristic to consider when selecting the crane is if you have consistently higher-inertia loads to move. If so, the double beam model is the only option. It costs more than a single beam to install but it is better for your overall production as it can handle the weights of the items you transport with it.

The double-girder crane is excellent for any factory or facility especially where heavy production is done or heavy loads must be carried throughout the day. While they are more expensive to install than the single-girder units, they offer the main features that certain production lines need as the single-girder cranes will not suffice.
